What is a B Corp certification?

B Corp certification is to sustainable business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee. B Corps are expected to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

As a B Corp certified business, Rankin’s purpose is not to maximise shareholder wealth but rather maximise value for all our stakeholders.

Why did we become a B Corp?

Rankin believes in creating the type of world that all our employees want to live in. A generous world, a world where business decisions factor in the impact of these choices on employees, the environment and our community. Examples of how this plays out in practice include:-

Employees

A key focus of the firm is on creating an exceptional employment experience for our staff. We actively encourage flexible & autonomous working, have health and well-being programs in place and a beach house where our staff can work from remotely.

We are very focused on the development and career progression of our team.

Our Communities

Rankin support local companies and suppliers who locally produce their products. We’re always interested in being introduced to people with same values or suppliers who are local to us.

We not only sponsor but also participate in fund raising events for many causes including The Amy Gillett Foundation, The Social Studio and The Christina Noble Foundation.

We also undertake volunteer and pro-bono work for not-for-profit organisations.

Our Environment

As a virtual firm our environmental footprint is very small. We are paperlite, in that we use very little paper and don’t run our own energy hungry heavy duty office equipment.

Our procurement policy gives preference to other B Corps and we evaluate all other suppliers for environmental impact.

We encourage and provide training to our staff to ensuring their home office environment has a positive environmental impact.
