As an Immigration and Entertainment lawyer, many of my clients are experiencing stress and difficulty in returning home to Australia from the United States.

Please be advised of the following flight update to assist you in returning home.

Qantas and Virgin Australia are now taking bookings for a limited number of repatriation flights they will be operating together with the Australian Government to get Australians home. Both airlines will operate a weekly flight between Los Angeles and Brisbane for the next 4 weeks.

Virgin Australia will fly from LAX to Brisbane on Thursdays commencing from now until a final scheduled flight on 30 April. Flights are available at www.virginaustralia.com – select one way ticket for Thursday 16, 23 or 30 April.

Qantas will fly from LAX to Brisbane on Fridays commencing 10 April, with the final scheduled flight on 1 May. Flights available at www.qantas.com – select one way ticket for Friday 17, 24 April or 1 May.

As these flights are for repatriation and essential travel only, they will operate with limited services and passengers will be unable to book into particular cabins (Business, Premium or Economy). All tickets will be sold as one way economy fares.

If you are in the United States and want to return to Australia, do not wait. These flights are limited and other commercial options are significantly reduced.

If you require advice with regards to obtaining an Australian visa or information regarding your US visa, please do not hesitate to contact us.
